Choose a model with relevant material and confidence in the exact role: demonstration, product handling, photography or video. If the job involves speaking, memorising a script or explaining technical information, assess those skills separately. The Commercial category does not guarantee them.
Define the format and audience
An in-store launch, a presentation to business customers and an online demonstration have different rhythms. Specify whether the work is live, recorded or both. Distinguish the person showing the product from the person hosting the event programme.
What material to request
Review relevant photographs and, where the role requires it, a short video sample. For speaking roles, check delivery, language and confidence with an approved script. For demonstrations, assess product handling and movement. Explain special requirements before asking for a test.
Preparing an effective demonstration
- Provide the product, approved message and demonstration movements.
- Include training and rehearsal time in the schedule.
- Explain what must not be said or promised about the product.
- Specify cameras, microphones, audience and repetitions.
- Agree whether recordings will be used only for the presentation or subsequently in advertising.
EXAMPLE REQUEST · NOT A LIVE CASTING
Describe the role clearly
For an accessories launch, we are looking for a model to demonstrate the product during a live presentation and short video recordings. Technical speaking is not required. A rehearsal with the brand team is planned. Any subsequent use of the recordings will be described separately in the agreement.
Complete the actual dates, location, fee and agreed terms before publishing your own casting.
Questions before you book
Can every model also work as a presenter?
No. Microphone presenting, live broadcasting and event hosting require different skills. Describe the task and confirm the person's relevant experience.
Is a photograph enough to choose someone for video?
For movement or speaking roles, a relevant video sample is more informative than a still image. Any requested sample should be limited and related to the job.
